Understanding Tufail from last week.

Most of us are aware of the name Tufail and his twitter handle @tufailelif. As his self introduction goes on twitter, he is an ‘Author & Commentator on “South-East Asia", Ex-BBC Journalist, countering everyday Islamism’. Since last week we all are seeing some unprecedented tweet through his twitter handle. Normally a rational voice among free thinking muslims from “Indian-subcontinent”, Tufail was taken by surprised like all of us, with the appointment of Yogi Adityanath as next CM of UP. This appointment was received with all sort of emotions from all the corners of society. As expected Lutynes Delhi almost had nervous break down, which if you might recall were in a position to appoint even union ministers during UPA-2 era.
Even though Lutynes Delhi was expected to react in same manner if any other candidate would have been appointed as CM. As pointed out by another twitter handle @Chopsyturvey and retweeted by non other than @tufailelif

But the people who are mentioned in this tweet as raged also included @tufailelif.
He made series of tweet equating Yogi Adityanath with infamous Owasi and asked if Yogi can be CM so should Owasi?

Though I have put tweet from 24th March he had similar stand since the day Yogi Adityanath was announced as CM. Though Yogi ji, who has muslims actively voting for him in Gorakhpur, can not be equated with Owasi. The fact was pointed out to him by few fellow twitter pals. They also pointed out false allegation and charges put against Yogi Adityanath ji, as he himself talked about it in 2007 loksabha. To which Tufail’s reply was a whats apps post

Searching for controversy, as it seems, @tufailelif made various tweets from quoting Swami Vivekanand and Dr. Ambedkar where they suit his narrative.

To Hindu Terror/communal hindus

“Being Hindu is not the same as being Indian” is what brings me to Tufail being Commentator on “South-East” Asia. Indians in US of A has fought and won battle on this issue. America wanted to teach Indian history in the name of South-East Asia. This concept of India and neo-modern concept of South-East Asia is developed by western scholars. It is as bogus as it sounds. If you look at map South-East Asia is actually Malay Archipelago. And even that is disputed. India = Hindu which is a geographical identity. Like a person living in France is called French regardless of his religion, Person living in Hindustan is Hindu. Many Indologist and dharmic thinkers of recent times had talk and wrote about it extensively. @tufailelif did acknowledged the Sanatan Dharma in his latter tweets.

But his another tweet today, was a call for worry.

In a single tweet he disregarded Swami Vivekanand and Dr. Ambedkar whom he was quoting so extensively few days back. This U-turns can been seen all over his time line in past few days.

While quoting an news article interviewing a college principal, Tufail wrote this, indicating conservative nature of Indian society.

He further retweeted a tweet from Gaurav Sawant asking for nation wide implementation of Anti-Romeo Squad. But same Tufail just 2 days after this, drags Lord Krishna in this debate.

I seriously doubt, what lord will preach in today's time.  Looking at the state of lawlessness where 2 sisters were raped and hanged to the tree, it would be hard to imagine Lord preaching the same way which he did in Dvapar Yuga. Tufail also plead not to stop innocent youth.

But stop from what? He doesn’t say. There is no stopping to innocent. If youth is hiding their social outing at home, then it is not innocence is it? Why an innocent youth needs to hide his friend from his parents?
He also took on the illegal slaughter house to new Level of Veg-NonVeg debate.
He retweeted Rohit Sardana on un-necessarily hype of Tundey Kabab Issue.

But then open same front as Lutynes Delhi

While he retweeted Dr. Farwley where Dr. Farwley raised point of hygiene,

He also criticised Yogi ji calling it “Cow Vigilantism”

If that wasn’t enough. Today with renewed vigour he quoted Vedic text, Manu Smriti and other ancient text in support of beef and non-veg diet in general.

Tufail also proposes theory as to why there is ban on slaughter houses. Not because it was part of BJP’s Manifesto. Not because 80% of Indians are in favour of banning beef and cow slaughter. Behold the (Congress/Indian) secularism.

After pulling Lord Krisha in the Anti-Romeo squad debate, Tufail makes another attempt to pull Narendra Modi into debate by tweeting this.

As I said Tufail took this argument to next level today asking where this idea of Vegetarianism coming from

Completely forgetting his own tweet few days back where he himself advocated a nation wide ban on all Non-veg produce.

There is not difference between Hindu and Indian or the bogus term South-East Asian. They are geographical identity and one and the same.
The difference lies in somewhere else. And believe it or not Tufail also struck on it. But from wrong direction.

“Hindu identity is not Indian. There is a shade of Abrahamic/Communal Hindu.” But that shade lies only in eye of the beholder which is western cultured mind. For example let’s take the debate opened on Vegetarianism by Tufail. He feels necessary to quote, Five thousand years old scriptures and Manu Smriti to support his claim. This comes from Abrahamic mind-set. Where people need divine intervention to tell them what is right and wrong. And they believe on them. Not in Sanatan Dharma. The Dharmic tradition is not of believers of words of god, but of seekers of ultimate truth. It is not important, what were people’s eating habits five thousand years ago. India today is governed by constitution. And constitution is written by “WE, the People of India” If we today feels that cow slaughter must be banned it must be banned.(Full Stop) Why followers of Abrahamic cult want to make it difficult by bringing Shruti-Smriti-Shastra-Puranans into it?
Tufail would very much says that retweets were not endorsement but to accommodate opposite point of view. He stated that clearly in his introduction. But it seems sad when Tufail starts blocking some twitter handles just because they disagree with him.

To end this I will just quote Tufail’s one tweet.

And to clear any doubt, This is ENDORSEMENT of this one particular tweet above.

Bengaluru : Lesson

What happened in Bengaluru on new year’s eve is nothing new to us. Places changes but story remains the same since Ramayana. Men want to get women by force. Similar incidence happened in Mumbai in 2008. Same thing happened in Nirbhaya’s Case in 2013. What has not changed in Mentality of people to view women as an object of pleasure. What has changed since Ramayana is lack of Jatayu in our society.

First thing first. Women need not to dress according to anyone’s cultural or religion. Men need to be more cultured and religious. No cultural or religion says women to wear short at the same time no cultural or religion give permission to men to rape women wearing shorts. So the whole cultural argument is out of question. It is men who are behaving like animals because they can not control their feelings. Now that’s needed to be addressed.

Our films and TV dramas promote much openness. We like hot modern heroines in movies, while also liking the strong and independent bahu of TV serials. But are we allowing our daughters/sisters to be that free and open? This gap between what is desired and what is considered as ideal is hypocrisy of modern Indian society. Our desires are different from our ideals how are we supposed to reconcile them? Simple. Dump the ideals. They are fake and outdated. There is no sanskari bahu in our homes. The fundamental requirement for being a bahu is having presence of a sasuma. With the nuclear family life that we have adopted in modern urbanization the ghar ki bahu is independent working wife. So start accepting that. Drop this bahu word and start using word like Better-Half. That’s where the change lies. It may not seem a big deal but it will change the psyche of the society and free the young women from age old stereotype.

Second and most important, stand for the right of women. See the example of Jatayu how he gave his life fighting for Sita. I am not asking anyone to be martyr here, but this was our age old culture. Some say it changed when muslim invaders taking hindu women for their pleasure and it was dangerous to oppose, some say something else. Pandavas went to War for pride of Draupadi. Ram went to war for Sita. This is our culture. It is still inside us. We need to be free from the slave mentality and to understand it is our duty to oppose when anyone is being suppressed unjustly. Duty to keep our country safe and law abiding. If we are not opposing such behavior remember we are indirectly encouraging them. I don’t want to use cliché that it might happen to your wife or sister or daughter one day. I am saying it happening to your sister every day. The women in front of you is your sister. We all Indians are brothers and sisters. If not ask your own sister. And she might tell you the horrible situation she face because of men like you.

You can either wake up and prevent such event from happening or become accomplice in a rape.

Is Cyrus Mistry Yogendra Yadav of Corporate India!

The question is not is he, but to what extent.
Please read the Mistry's email to the board.
Yes it is official. Cyrus is Yogendra and Corporate governance is his swaraj. Yogendra wasn't promised free hand at the time of joining like Cyrus had. But the difference ends there. In all events and results that turned out you will see a drastic similarity between these two figures and their nose dive.
Arvind Kejriwal gave party candidacy to some shady goons in Delhi election. He also ran a campaign "Paach saal Kejriwal" which was against his party's ethos. The two points which Mistry highlights in his mail are 1. Bad business decision. 2. Shady transactions which are difficult to explain under current legal framework. The second point comes as a shocker as Tata has good standing in the eye of general public. At least in terms of legality of their business transactions.

Both Yogendra and Cyrus not only stood against it firmly but sought to do something about it. To save their organization by pulling out before it is too late.

They didn't knew that it was too late for them. Ratan Tata and Arvind Kejriwal started taking control of the organisation in order to prevent Cyrus/Yogendra from undoing their work. That lead to skirmishes between to parties. Which finally lead to immediate suspension from the office for both of them.

We do not know what took place behind the doors. We have only seen the bitter end result of suspension.

The leaked letter of Cyrus is just in line of many leaks, if not press conferences, that would be followed in coming week from both sides.

In next post I will discuss the e-mail of Cyrus Mistry in detail and we will try to discover the role of Swaraj/corporate governance in India.
