Indo-China (Doklam Issue)

Daily till Ajit Doval’s vist of BRICS nation to China. And since then once in 2 days, China state run media the Global Times has been issuing WAR threats to India.
The Doklam area under dispute is very sensitive issue for the India and it’s army. China is building Road in this remote area. India Army has since the beginning has taken firm stand against this road project. Even though China is building this road in it’s on territory according to Bidu map India has legitimate reason to oppose any such construction. 1st this road project is not far from India’s Siliguri corridor which is the narrow strip of land connecting North-East with rest of India. If China engages in road or any other sort of construction in the area it will directly affect India’s Military ability to protect it’s northeastern state. China always wanted a piece of India’s north eastern state. in Indo-China war of 1962 even after winning some part of India state Arunachal Pradesh China had to pull back it’s forces because there was no road to establish supply chain from Tibet. So if this time China build a road they might be able to hold on their position. And India will have hard time defending it’s states as well as dependent nation Bhutan.
During the cold war of 1962 Russia (then USSR) wanted to build a Missile base in Cuba. USA had launched extreme opposition to that plan. So much so that both countries were ready to go for war. Today China is arguing that whatever we do in our territory is our business. But at the same time opposing installation of US made THAAD in South Korea. Even though THAAD is aimed against threat of North Korea it will hamper Military capability of China. Hence India has same ground to oppose China for Road construction as China has to oppose South Korea.
If this conflict escalate will there be war?
China has army of 2.2 million standing. India has 1.4 million. But recently China has declared to reduce it’s army by 1 million. Ans savings made on salary will be spent on modernization and up-gradation of Military Machine. Recently speaking in a function of 70th PLA anniversary Chinese President said that “China need its army more than ever” This raises the doubts about preparedness of Chinese Military called PLA. The last battle faught by PLA was in 1979 against Vietnam. People’s Army of Vietnam was inferior in equipment and and lesser in numbers. But still it delivered a might blow to PLA. Hence even after 1 month since incidence first reported china has done nothing but issuing war threat from it’s news papers. China is constantly asking India to remove it’s soldiers from the position. What it really meaent is “Let us build our road”. And India is not ready to compromise. When Indian defense minister Arun Jaitley said “This is not India of 192” What he really meant was “We are not ready for compromise”.
Currently China is only testing preparedness of India. Even if China build the road it doesn’t mean there will be war in next decade. But this is just to test preparedness of Indian Army and Indian counselor in foreign embassies. Currently no country has openly supported China in this conflict. This is why China’s response is comparatively mild.
Some people are linking this issue with 19th National Congres of CCP to be conducted in November this year. But I think Xi is very well prepared for November and all set to be back in power.

Why Pakistan wants India to Join CPEC?

CPEC is China Pakistan Economic Corridor, was planned to be and economic development corridor in Tibet-Xinjiang and Pakistan occupied Balochistan around the port of Gwadar. Plan was mainly devised by Pakistani politician Nawaz Sharif during 1990s. Though Nawaz was Prime Minister of Pakistan the real power was in the hands of Military establishment. Which was promptly displayed after Kargil war. The Pakistani military establishment was never too comfortable with so called CPEC. Reason being the money that will flow due to economic activity in Pakistan Occupied Balochistan will lend financial power to Baloch people and will weaken the Pakistani occupation forces.
Hence plan was put on slow burner by the Military General cum President Pervez Musharraf. It wasn’t until civilian government got power back again, that CPEC was again brought to forefront. But its form was modified. Rather than making it into Economic Corridor as the name suggest, Military establishment had settled on making it only Transportation Corridor.
In current form of CPEC there will be 2 railway lines and road network that will connect Gwadar to Tibet.
The first sign of trouble arose when Chinese workers arrived in Pakistan. They not only brought their work ethics but also their cultural and food with them. That created tension in the area. Chinese workers were ruthless in demolishing houses and suppressing protest of people using Pakistani occupation forces. They were attacked at some places by the freedom seeking youth and resistance forces of Balochistan. Chinese also opened massage centers in Gwadar. It promptly called Fatwas from various fractions of Islamic Fundamentalist operating in Pakistan. Situation worsen to the level that Pakistani Military offered 2 security personnel per Chinese worker in Pakistan.
Second sign of trouble was slowing Chinese economy. When CPEC was envisioned in 1990s economy of china was growing by 10% per-annum. It continued to do so during 2000. But in latter half of 2010 Chinese economy started to slowing down. China was happy to share 1%-2% growth of it’s economy with Pakistan in 1990s. Which would have been huge for Pakistan during that period. But now when it’s own economy is slowing down and more jobs are required to be created, China is not willing to set up factories in Pakistan. It would rather set up production factories in Tibet and Xinjiang. And then use the Rail and road network to transport the goods to the sea.
Third which sealed the fate of economic corridor as transportation corridor was arrest of Bo XiLia . Bo XiLai was chinese commerce minister and was very popular among the business community around the world. He was efficient. But the one thing that went against him was, he was loyal to Jiang ZeMin. There are currently 2 Core Leaders alive in China. Jian ZeMin and Xi JinPing. Both are rivals. And Leader of China currently is Xi JinPing. Bo XiLai rather effecient minister is now rotting in jail under corruption charges just because he is loyal to Jiang. In form of Bo china lost it’s ability to make this corridor work.
Not that China cared about it much. Especially when economy started to slow down. China wisely turned the CPEC into it’s more ambitious project of One Belt- One Road. Under which China is planning to improve infrastructure and connectivity so it’s products and be transported to Central Asia and Eastern Europe.
Nawaz Sharif who finds himself as Prime Minister of Pakistan again in 2013 realize what is happening. The CPEC in it’s current form is useless to civilian government in Pakistan. It will not create job nor will generate revenue. At max it will earn some rent in form of rail and road network. Though Pakistani military establishment understand that Chinese presence in form of People's Liberation Army on Pakistani soil and People's Liberation Army Navy in Pakistani waters will weaken it’s position in the area, they are too busy counting their fat pay cheques.
This leaves Pakistani civilan leader Nawaz Sharif in dilemma. Accepting CPEC as it is will turn Pakistan into colony of China. And refusing it will be throwing away any hope for economic development for next few decades. Not to mention fear of another revolt from Military Establishment.
China due to slowing of it’s economy is not willing to even think of any investment in Pakistan. So hopes of Pakistan are now pinned on the world’s fastest growing economy India. Nawaz Sharif used all his influence in persuading China to let India invest in Pakistan. But sadly for him, he does not enjoy such influence at home.
During 1990s Pakistan also had plan of IPI-Pipeline. An oil pipeline from Iran-Balochistan-Pakistan and into India. It would have ensured fast and cheap supply of oil from Iran to India. It would have saved millions of dollars on transportation of Oil and natural gas from sea. Also availability would have been constant. There was only one flaw though.
Pakistan was not ready for any sort of economic co-operation. It wanted India to build the pipeline from it’s own money. And pay Pakistan the rent charges. When delegation from India asked for discussion to be conducted on business investment, their request were denied.
Unwillingness of Pakistan to conduct business with India peacefully is evident from the fact that India has given Pakistan Most Favoured Nation (MFN) status in 1996 but Pakistan is yet to reciprocate.
Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is looking a way to make India invest in Pakistan. He has traveled great length from attending Prime Minister Modi’s swearing ceremony, presenting him saree for his mother to inviting him on his daughter’s wedding.
But words of a Prime Minister who’s notification could be refuted by Military Establishment over twitter are as hollow & short lived as bubble. Any development brought in by China Pakistan Transportation Corridor will end up freeing Balochistan from undeveloped Pakistan.

Delhi voters are smarter than you think!

The India against corruption movement was started when Indian news were filled with the corruption stories. India Against Corruption with social activist like Anna Hazare, Kiran Bedi, Prashant Bhushan, Arvind Kejriwal, Medha Patkar were inciting people’s emotion against corruption. People were understandably mad at what news were describing as state of affair of the nation. One after another scams were making headlines. At such a time India against corruption came forward as a force to fight and eradicate corruption in the country.  It put a solid looking team on paper. It had everything. It was mixture of old-new, highly educated- lesser educated, People who had worked with the government – People who worked as NGO for whole of their life. It was all encompassing mix bag. You would have found some inspiration from either one of them.
Such a gathering drew attention of not only the media but also public. Media made their agitation a full scale national event. They got prime time coverage on all news channels which was worth thousands of crore. The ruling party was more confused than scared. A man who was experienced of handling such agitation was Pranab Mukharji. But he was made President by Congress party just few month ago. Result was a PR disaster for the ruling party.
Anna was portrayed as the face of the movement. Congress party tried to deny the venue for agitation and also went ahead to arrest Anna Hazare. One thing led to another and congress finds itself on so much back foot that they got hit wicket. Congress party had to accept the demand of the India against corruption that the “A draft of Lokpal bill will be made along with some members of IAC on board”
This agitation gave IAC 2 things.:-
1.       Nation wide popularity and
2.       Database along with mobile numbers of sympathizers across India.

This was the point where Arvind Kejriwal and rest of the team started dreaming big. Arvind Kejriwal at this point devise a plan. A plan which will put him at the top. In the union Cabinet. And if he got lucky he might very well be the next Prime Minister of India.

Now you will say “Wait! Why this post titled as smart Delhi voter…?” Delhi voters outsmart and outplayed Kejriwal at every step of his game. He thought he was playing the game. Little he knew that he himself was the game.

So read below how Dillwalon ki dilli showed it’s dimag while voting. How mere 2 crore people have averted the disaster that was brought upon the entire population of 120 crore of our great nation. This is why democracy is matured in India even if politics is not so much.

After winning at every move and outplayed the national government, the first step for Kejriwal was to form a new party using database from India Against Corruption to raise Money and membership.
But every top figure associated with IAC had different dreams of their own. IAC was collectively owned. So Kejriwal had to move fast. What he did might be morally wrong but anyone at his place would have done the same thing.

He first thrown out Anna. Anna was more popular than him both in and out of IAC. He then removed Kiran Bedi who had similar profile like him. Both Bedi and Kejriwal were once government officers. Both were high achievers and both were from Delhi.

While he remove 2 of the most popular faces of IAC, he consolidated power by offering a piece each to remaining partners like Yogendra Yadav was offered Haryana, Medha Patkar was offered Maharashtra, Manish Sisodia was offered Delhi and so on.  New party was formed in a manner to keep everyone happy.

The first target was Delhi Election happening along with Gujrath, MP and Rajasthan. The Plan was to get as many seats as possible. Be in the position of king maker. Support BJP in exchange for proof of any 1 scam of congress government. Use that old scam to blame congress. Do another agitation/dharna at same jantar Mantar. And then advertise AAP as only solution to corruption at national level.

Delhi voters blasted this plan out of the ground. They gave him seats more-way more than he planned. Though Arvind was shocked Sisodia could feel the power is within his reach. Kejriwal was caught in 2 minds. He himself said that he will neither support nor will take support from either congress or BJP. But after reaching so close to the power, it was tempting and pressing from the Delhi local leaders.

Kejriwal flipped. He had to. He adjusted his plan. New plan was to form government with whom so ever agrees to support and pass lokpal bill as soon as possible. BJP stayed away and Kejriwal had to partner up with congress. Which turns out to be fatal mistake. He got exposed as Team B of Congress. Delhi voters had successfully unmasked Kejriwal before crucial 2014 Union election.

Kejriwal sensed this and rather than passing lokpal bill, he asked congress to oppose it.
Which was basic requirement for his new plan for the next phase. Kejriwal always had national ambitions. He drew a revised plan without consultation with anyone. He selected candidates for nearly 300 seats for loksabha election. While he resigned from the government in mere 49 days. And tried to portray himself as a noble leader opposed by congress. He contested against Modi himself. People of India were not going to fall for this again after Delhi thoroughly exposed him. Aam Adami Party bite the dust in Loksabha.

Manish Sisodia was furious. It was he who has lost his power. Not Kejriwal. Inter party pressure mounting by now. Kejriwal was forced to the corner. He was made to apologies to people of Delhi. He was publicly slapped in the rallies by supporters. But he was not going down so easily.  After futile effort of reviving the alliance with Congress, Kejriwal put all his efforts and political wisdom into 2nd Delhi election. It was do or die situation for him. He put everything he had on this election. And he did it. By massive margin. There was no opposition left in Delhi assembly. But it wasn’t needed. Because real opposition was with-in the party itself.
This time Manish Sisodia made power sharing clear form Day 1. Because election were fought under slogan “paach sal Kejriwal” Sisodia agreed Kejriwal can be CM. But he didn’t want him to have a single department. Even Delhi Jal board, a water supply body which was always chaired by CM of Delhi was taken away from him. This is the reason why Kejriwal is reduced to giving film reviews and accusing Modi.

After winning massively the first thing Kejriwal did was to take opposition head on. Now he was in the position of power. So he could dictate his terms. He leaves his fighting to his right hand man Sanjay Singh. Displaying arrogance at every step, Yogendra Yadav and Prashant Bhushan were not allowed to meet with Kejriwal. Instead they were made to deal with Sanjay Sing, Kumar Vhiswas while Kejriwal went on holiday. Then at his party meeting Kejriwal displayed same arrogance when he closed his speech saying “Now I have to leave for another program. You decide whether these guys should remain in party or I remain in party. I will come back to the meeting if I have time”  Needless to say, both Yogendra Yadav and Prashant Bhushan were “Kicked out” of the party without even giving an opportunity to keep their side in front of the party.

Then it was Punjab & Goa election for which Kejriwal was waiting for. Nearly 1.5-2 years after his government was formed. He had a chance to grab power for himself. Though elections were also going to be held in UP,Uttarakhand and Manipur, Kejriwal wasn’t a bit interested in those states.
As election progressed, Kejriwal sensed ground reality that he will not win Goa. So he selected a shady candidate who has corruption charges on him to lead the “Non-Corruopt” party in Goa. He focused more on Punjab now. He wanted to gather votes from where ever possible. Hence he issued a specific Dalit Manefesto even though it is illegal to do so. Also offered Deputy CM’s post to Dalit candidate, which was earlier offered to Navjot Singh Siddhu. When he sensed that even Punjab is uphill task he request his foreign supporters to join in. Because he could not get enough volunteers to work on ground for the party. People flown in from Canada for rallies.

But alas Captain Amrinder Singh won Punjab. Big blow to Kejriwal’s power dream. He was so frustrated that he started finding conspiracy against his honest party. Blaming BJP for EVM tampering.

Frustrated and powerless Kejriwal returned to Delhi like a naked emperor. But there was one more blow Delhi has to deliver. And that was MCD election. Delhi has closely watched Kejriwal’s blame game. How he repeatedly pressed that he was powerless and hence he is unable to work. And still how he has done Bijali half Pani maf and now promising to waive away House tax. It is like having power on odd days for all these and on even days Modi government takes back his powers to even buy a pen.

When Posters were set-up all over Delhi stating this contest is between Arvind Kejriwal and Vijendra Gupt, people had it. They decided to teach Kejriwal a lesson. Arvind Kejriwal caught the drift of delhi voters and resort to last weapon in his armory. Blackmail. He threaten Delhi voters of Biological warfare of Dengue/Chikengunia if they play any trick with him. People decided to catch his bluff again. And even after promise of House Tax maaf AAP lost at all 3 MCD polls. This was a indicator of Kejriwal’s popularity who made it into personal contest.

Delhi voters were way smarter than we give them credit for. First they unmasked Arvind Kejriwal as Team B of Congress. So people who might have voted for him in 2014 Loksabha went on to vote for BJP. Resulting in clear majority for the party.
Secondly they gave him bumper majority in assembly and tied him down. If he would have been in opposition, he would have cause anarchy all across India. By electing him as CM, Delhi voters restricted his activity within Delhi itself.
And lastly they dump him at very correct moment. After being defeated in Punjab and Goa, Aam Adami Party was looking to consolidate it’s power. Arvind Kejriwal had put his personal credibility at stake. And Delhi gave him what he deserve. Currently Kejriwal is down and out, being challenged with-in the party. Everyone  now realized that they can not win election on the name of Kejriwal. And if top leader of the party can’t win them election what they need him for? We will see some fireworks in AAP within few years.

Hats off to Delhi voters to crushed this AAP project in grand style. Every time denying Kejriwal what he wanted. Forcing him to adopt to new situation. Making him play a political game out of his depth. Now looking back you will realize the 2 win Kejriwal had at Delhi were not win after all. They exposed party more than any scandal could have. Delhi like Lord Shiva from Puranas choose to suffer so that entire nation could live in peace. We must start appreciating them for their political smartness.

Understanding Tufail from last week.

Most of us are aware of the name Tufail and his twitter handle @tufailelif. As his self introduction goes on twitter, he is an ‘Author & Commentator on “South-East Asia", Ex-BBC Journalist, countering everyday Islamism’. Since last week we all are seeing some unprecedented tweet through his twitter handle. Normally a rational voice among free thinking muslims from “Indian-subcontinent”, Tufail was taken by surprised like all of us, with the appointment of Yogi Adityanath as next CM of UP. This appointment was received with all sort of emotions from all the corners of society. As expected Lutynes Delhi almost had nervous break down, which if you might recall were in a position to appoint even union ministers during UPA-2 era.
Even though Lutynes Delhi was expected to react in same manner if any other candidate would have been appointed as CM. As pointed out by another twitter handle @Chopsyturvey and retweeted by non other than @tufailelif

But the people who are mentioned in this tweet as raged also included @tufailelif.
He made series of tweet equating Yogi Adityanath with infamous Owasi and asked if Yogi can be CM so should Owasi?

Though I have put tweet from 24th March he had similar stand since the day Yogi Adityanath was announced as CM. Though Yogi ji, who has muslims actively voting for him in Gorakhpur, can not be equated with Owasi. The fact was pointed out to him by few fellow twitter pals. They also pointed out false allegation and charges put against Yogi Adityanath ji, as he himself talked about it in 2007 loksabha. To which Tufail’s reply was a whats apps post

Searching for controversy, as it seems, @tufailelif made various tweets from quoting Swami Vivekanand and Dr. Ambedkar where they suit his narrative.

To Hindu Terror/communal hindus

“Being Hindu is not the same as being Indian” is what brings me to Tufail being Commentator on “South-East” Asia. Indians in US of A has fought and won battle on this issue. America wanted to teach Indian history in the name of South-East Asia. This concept of India and neo-modern concept of South-East Asia is developed by western scholars. It is as bogus as it sounds. If you look at map South-East Asia is actually Malay Archipelago. And even that is disputed. India = Hindu which is a geographical identity. Like a person living in France is called French regardless of his religion, Person living in Hindustan is Hindu. Many Indologist and dharmic thinkers of recent times had talk and wrote about it extensively. @tufailelif did acknowledged the Sanatan Dharma in his latter tweets.

But his another tweet today, was a call for worry.

In a single tweet he disregarded Swami Vivekanand and Dr. Ambedkar whom he was quoting so extensively few days back. This U-turns can been seen all over his time line in past few days.

While quoting an news article interviewing a college principal, Tufail wrote this, indicating conservative nature of Indian society.

He further retweeted a tweet from Gaurav Sawant asking for nation wide implementation of Anti-Romeo Squad. But same Tufail just 2 days after this, drags Lord Krishna in this debate.

I seriously doubt, what lord will preach in today's time.  Looking at the state of lawlessness where 2 sisters were raped and hanged to the tree, it would be hard to imagine Lord preaching the same way which he did in Dvapar Yuga. Tufail also plead not to stop innocent youth.

But stop from what? He doesn’t say. There is no stopping to innocent. If youth is hiding their social outing at home, then it is not innocence is it? Why an innocent youth needs to hide his friend from his parents?
He also took on the illegal slaughter house to new Level of Veg-NonVeg debate.
He retweeted Rohit Sardana on un-necessarily hype of Tundey Kabab Issue.

But then open same front as Lutynes Delhi

While he retweeted Dr. Farwley where Dr. Farwley raised point of hygiene,

He also criticised Yogi ji calling it “Cow Vigilantism”

If that wasn’t enough. Today with renewed vigour he quoted Vedic text, Manu Smriti and other ancient text in support of beef and non-veg diet in general.

Tufail also proposes theory as to why there is ban on slaughter houses. Not because it was part of BJP’s Manifesto. Not because 80% of Indians are in favour of banning beef and cow slaughter. Behold the (Congress/Indian) secularism.

After pulling Lord Krisha in the Anti-Romeo squad debate, Tufail makes another attempt to pull Narendra Modi into debate by tweeting this.

As I said Tufail took this argument to next level today asking where this idea of Vegetarianism coming from

Completely forgetting his own tweet few days back where he himself advocated a nation wide ban on all Non-veg produce.

There is not difference between Hindu and Indian or the bogus term South-East Asian. They are geographical identity and one and the same.
The difference lies in somewhere else. And believe it or not Tufail also struck on it. But from wrong direction.

“Hindu identity is not Indian. There is a shade of Abrahamic/Communal Hindu.” But that shade lies only in eye of the beholder which is western cultured mind. For example let’s take the debate opened on Vegetarianism by Tufail. He feels necessary to quote, Five thousand years old scriptures and Manu Smriti to support his claim. This comes from Abrahamic mind-set. Where people need divine intervention to tell them what is right and wrong. And they believe on them. Not in Sanatan Dharma. The Dharmic tradition is not of believers of words of god, but of seekers of ultimate truth. It is not important, what were people’s eating habits five thousand years ago. India today is governed by constitution. And constitution is written by “WE, the People of India” If we today feels that cow slaughter must be banned it must be banned.(Full Stop) Why followers of Abrahamic cult want to make it difficult by bringing Shruti-Smriti-Shastra-Puranans into it?
Tufail would very much says that retweets were not endorsement but to accommodate opposite point of view. He stated that clearly in his introduction. But it seems sad when Tufail starts blocking some twitter handles just because they disagree with him.

To end this I will just quote Tufail’s one tweet.

And to clear any doubt, This is ENDORSEMENT of this one particular tweet above.

Bengaluru : Lesson

What happened in Bengaluru on new year’s eve is nothing new to us. Places changes but story remains the same since Ramayana. Men want to get women by force. Similar incidence happened in Mumbai in 2008. Same thing happened in Nirbhaya’s Case in 2013. What has not changed in Mentality of people to view women as an object of pleasure. What has changed since Ramayana is lack of Jatayu in our society.

First thing first. Women need not to dress according to anyone’s cultural or religion. Men need to be more cultured and religious. No cultural or religion says women to wear short at the same time no cultural or religion give permission to men to rape women wearing shorts. So the whole cultural argument is out of question. It is men who are behaving like animals because they can not control their feelings. Now that’s needed to be addressed.

Our films and TV dramas promote much openness. We like hot modern heroines in movies, while also liking the strong and independent bahu of TV serials. But are we allowing our daughters/sisters to be that free and open? This gap between what is desired and what is considered as ideal is hypocrisy of modern Indian society. Our desires are different from our ideals how are we supposed to reconcile them? Simple. Dump the ideals. They are fake and outdated. There is no sanskari bahu in our homes. The fundamental requirement for being a bahu is having presence of a sasuma. With the nuclear family life that we have adopted in modern urbanization the ghar ki bahu is independent working wife. So start accepting that. Drop this bahu word and start using word like Better-Half. That’s where the change lies. It may not seem a big deal but it will change the psyche of the society and free the young women from age old stereotype.

Second and most important, stand for the right of women. See the example of Jatayu how he gave his life fighting for Sita. I am not asking anyone to be martyr here, but this was our age old culture. Some say it changed when muslim invaders taking hindu women for their pleasure and it was dangerous to oppose, some say something else. Pandavas went to War for pride of Draupadi. Ram went to war for Sita. This is our culture. It is still inside us. We need to be free from the slave mentality and to understand it is our duty to oppose when anyone is being suppressed unjustly. Duty to keep our country safe and law abiding. If we are not opposing such behavior remember we are indirectly encouraging them. I don’t want to use cliché that it might happen to your wife or sister or daughter one day. I am saying it happening to your sister every day. The women in front of you is your sister. We all Indians are brothers and sisters. If not ask your own sister. And she might tell you the horrible situation she face because of men like you.

You can either wake up and prevent such event from happening or become accomplice in a rape.
